Like thirsty explorers of the past, these architects were always on a journey through time, finding inspiration in the elegant lines, intricate details, and captivating stories woven into historical structures.

And as a designer, I often pause and stare at historical buildings as if they are speaking to me, and I just stand there to find more of it. (It’s kinda attractive.)

So, the next time you visit a historical monument,
try understanding more this time, like really more of:

🕵🏻‍♂️Styles and Periods:
Identify the style and historical period; look for shapes or decorations.

🎄Materials and Craftsmanship:
Note the materials used and Pay attention to the craftsmanship techniques, can ask how did they really make it??

🏗️Spatial Layout and Functionality:
Understand how spaces are arranged; consider how the layout can help in functionality of our current design practices.

🪭Symbolism and Cultural Context:
Identify any symbols or cultural motifs and understand the story behind it!

🧩Adaptive Reuse Opportunities:
Assess if the historical structure can be adapted for modern use. Integrate contemporary elements harmoniously.

🧹Color Palette and Finishes:
Study the historical color palette. Consider finishes and patinas that add historical charm.

🚮Sustainability and Building Techniques:
Explore traditional building techniques. Integrate sustainable practices for modern design.

Conclusion:
In this ongoing love affair with historical treasures, we designers stand as both guardians and poets, crafting stories that transcend time.”
(hmm poetic enough?, what do you feel?)

I feel like making a series about Designers and _____?
give me more suggestions and ideas, would really mean a lot.

I would love to read about Designers and Culture
and also maybe .... Space Exploration, basically space architecture, challenges and possibilities of designing for life beyond Earth.
